I have a 2011 mk3 ford focus with keyless entry which has been working fine for the last 3 years.
Keyless entry car door handle not working.
It locks and unlocks when i use the remote no problem.
Check the fob s battery.
But this last week ive found the passenger side handle now wont lock the car.
1 2 when your keyless entry stops working you can always.
Here s what to do.
Key fob buttons work fine for unlocking but the touch to unlock feature is now gone.
If the key is not detected when you try to start the car try pushing the start button with the key fob.
1 1 pointers for when your keyless entry stops working.
A few years later small radio transmitters were integrated with car electronics and key fob controlled keyless car entry systems appeared.
All of the door locks will cycle.
Press 7 8 9 and 0 buttons simultaneously on the keypad.
Release the door handle then turn the key anti clockwise to unlock the door.
Up until about a week ago i could unlock the car just by having the fob in my pocket and touching the driver s door handle just like you re supposed to be able to.
Once in the vehicle try and start it normally.
Ford keyless entry not working.
Consider that it may not be your fob.
When i lock the car using the drivers handle i can unlock the car with the passenger handle.
This confirms that you are entering the programming mode.
This sends a lock signal.
Later instead of using a pushbutton key fob to open the door locks small radio transceivers were set up to open doors when they received the right signal from a small transducer chip.
The keyless entry is a convenience feature on the ford unless it stops working and then it can become a problem.
First try the easiest solution.
